Hair loss has no gender discrimination. It equally affects both men and women as well. Genes and wrong food habits are said to be the commo9n reason for hair loss in men, there are serious issues behind women’s hair loss especially at her mid 40’s. Apart from menopause, poly cystic ovary syndrome and psychological stress all are the reasons for hair fall.
During menopause time, many hormonal changes take place in a woman. The main fluctuation is observed in thyroid level. This thyroid level drops to minimum thus making way to severe hair loss. This is the reason women during their menopause should get a doctor’s assistance to rectify the hormonal fluctuations. If noticed early at the initial stage drugs can be taken to correct the thyroid levels and hair re-growth is possible.
Some people when under the medication to treat ovary cyst are prone to hair loss in common. Even some doctors can diagnose cyst formation with severe hair fall. When irregular periods or excess bleeding is combined with hair loss, poly cystic ovaries should be considered for further treatment. Once the fallen hair can be re-grown after the treatment process completes.
Telogen Effuvium hair loss arises when the follicle becomes weak due to the psychological stress in women. Focus on Hair Loss
The average lifespan of a single hair is 4.5 years; the hair then falls out and replaced within 6 months by a new hair. Shampooing, blow drying, and brushing hair can all cause a few hairs to fall out; most of us do this regularly. After the age of 30, men and women both start losing hair, though men tend to do so at a faster rate.
Genetic hair loss isn’t due to excessive amounts of hair falling out, but to no sufficient amount of hairs growing back to replace the hairs that have been shed. Hereditary baldness is influenced by the following:
• Gender: Hereditary, or “pattern” baldness, is much more common in men than in women.
• Age: By age 30, 1 in 4 men is balding; by age 60, 2 in 3 men are balding or bald.
• Hormones: Pattern baldness is associated with testosterone; women who have more of it in their system as they age tend to lose (or, technically, fail to re-grow) more hair. This is also why more men experience pattern baldness.
It’s true that stress also causes loss of hair. Excessive physical or emotional stress, like that associated with injury, illness or surgery, can cause Telogen Effluvium or Alopecia Areata.
• Telogen Effluvium is a less common and less severe type of hair loss, the hair stops growing and lies dormant, only to fall out 2 or 3 months later. Then it grows back within 6 to 9 months.
• Alopecia Areata involves a white blood cell attack on the hair follicles. With this type of hair loss, the hair falls out within weeks, but can involve the entire scalp and even body hair.
Other factors that can cause hair loss: illness, hormonal changes, pregnancy, childbirth, birth control pill usage and chemotherapy.
Hair loss control
Many hair loss treatments are available to solve hair loss problems. Controlling hair is not a difficult task. There are certain factors which you need to look into.
Stress
The reason for hair loss can be due to stress factor. When people have more stress there are many chances for hair loss. Hair loss can be caused due to an extreme stress. If you are facing hair loss problem due to stress then, that indicates you have already exceeded the limit.
The body will deal stress in strange way. Regularly body absorbs all stress and re-channels the way of production of hormones and by other affective chemicals. Some times these chemicals are unchecked which will cause psychological and physiological problems.
Diet
Every element in a person’s diet changes and is associated with the functions that a person’s body performs. According to your diet, doctors can find out the type of life style you are dealing with. The person’s diet also effects hair growth. When person lacks diet that includes proteins and minerals will result ultimately to hair loss in both men and women.
When child does not receive proper nutrients he will be affected with many problems like skin, hair, teeth and nails. The growth of these would be less or it might not have growth at all.
People should take food which includes rich antioxides and low in cholesterol and fat. Foods such as cherry, tomatoes and papayas will help in promoting hair growth.
Surgery treatment
If you have used many treatments for hair loss and have gained no result, then there is another way to treat the problem. Laser treatments will help to stimulate scalp and improves hair growth.
Surgery helps in re-structuring new hair so that more hair will appear. Surgery is very costly and the effect is semi- permanent depending upon their body type.
